John Tindel is an artist and designer working out of Atlanta, GA. As an early pioneer of the Atlanta art scene and suffering from what he calls “obsessive creative disorder,” Tindel’s work comments on Southern culture with unique imagery and wit.
Tindel has been making art in Atlanta for almost two decades now. Whether you’ve seen one of his exhibitions, visited his studio spot or successfully chased after one of his #FAFATL pieces, Tindel is a veteran around these parts. His large scale works are multilayered, multicolored, multifaceted, these paintings are a contemporary puzzle, pulling the viewer into a world of myth, places and lines, — they are unique, and unique in many senses. His smaller wood blocks often display quotes from his grandparents or metaphors about Southern rap, all spray-painted in vivid colors. They can be found throughout the city of Atlanta on #FAFATL.
Tindel is always hustling in Atlanta and you can see his work on murals, art exhibits, and the homes of some of the most amazing collectors. His artwork and mural work is currently handled through the Imagination Bureau LLC and large-scale, available inventory can be found here.

BAPTISM BY FIRE
Barbara Archer Gallery, Atlanta, GA
This exhibition uses the verbiage to describe the path of the artist as metaphor for creative sanctification. War never offers doves as solutions to conflict. The creative practice may never garner the accolades. We are interested in the very moment when one feels the pressures to give into stagnation and content. The brief time period before doubt wins all. Within us all there is a drive to continue the pursuit of the creative process. It is the Baptism by Fire that is the courage to face the difficult.
